Here's her story:

She was the best cat for our little one... Affectionate, patient and loving. She was also the best mom to Shake.

About 3 weeks ago she had been drooling and not closing her mouth completely. She had a fever and after a trip to the emergency vet and our regular vet she was diagnosed with a double ear infection and likely dental issues.

We tried antibiotics, steroids but she just kept losing weight she was usually 9.5 pounds she dropped to 8 at the emergency vet and last night she was just 6 lbs. Her labs were normal but her GI panel showed a severe B vitamin deficiency indicating dysfunction.

I was syringe feeding her high calorie prescription food to keep her going. We had just started her on prednisolone and B Vitamin injections. We were treating it as if it was lymphoma or IBD.

Last night she was still weak but was her usual super affectionate self. This morning I went to feed her and she was like holding a rope :(. She passed away in our arms.

The vet did a necropsy and said that she had chronic stomach ulcers. Almost impossible to diagnose especially in Penny's condition. She passed quickly from irreversible hypovolemic shock

She was too good for this world... This place could never hold her.

Penny left this world around 10:30 this morning. We had 1.5 years of her almost 6 year life with her. She was the absolute sweetest Orange girl ever, basically cat shaped play doh. Hug your kitties a little tighter today for her 💔.
