Adjustment of status changes

I recently applied for a EAD class C14 since my lawyer told me it was possible for me to get it through that route since my abuser was a green card holder during the time of our marriage , we proceeded with that and it’s been twice that they inform me that they send it to the wrong office which is annoying , now they’re telling me that I qualify for adjustment of status based on my priority date since anyone that applied before sept 22nd 2025 even if they’re spouse is a green card holder , my now ex husband is a us citizen but they told me that in order to apply for a C09 I need a copy of his citizenship but there’s no way I can get that it’s not like we’re best friends . My question is how accurate is that thing they’re saying with AOS and changes since Sept 22nd ?
