Good tip on chair height!

Hello fellow basists!

I've just returned to playing bass clarinet - which I refer to as my "first love" - in an ensemble, so I'm adjusting to switching between bass and soprano each week. One of my bass-playing friends pointed out recently that I was having to hold my bass at an angle because I could use a couple extra inches while seated (I'm 5'6"). This was a great observation and caused me to order a 22" high folding stool to use while playing bass, over the 18" folding chairs we usually sit on. I'm hoping those extra inches allow me to have a better posture, embouchure, and diaphragm control.
