Feeling sad about my new tattoo

Getting my second tattoo and I was super hyped about the design. The artist said during designing that it would take 8 hours. This is a quarter sleeve tattoo and my last quarter sleeve tattoo took about 3.5-4 hours, but this design has more fine work so I thought it’s reasonable enough. But today he took 9 hours and finished only half of it. He said he can work throughout the night but I honestly couldn’t give him so much time cuz I have a toddler at home. I even told him I can manage 2 more hours but he said he needs at least 5-6 hours, which would mean returning home at 1 am (I have been in the studio since 10 am).

I am so gutted. And he’s not free in next few days by which time this tattoo will go into healing so we cannot continue. I have to wait till this part to heal before he can do the rest, so maybe a month and a half. I have to keep it hidden because the half tat looks so odd rn. Like, it’s a headless dragon right now. I am so disappointed. I don’t want to blame the artist but I feel like they should have better estimated time required for their own design.
