Seeking advice/direction for savings after completed consumer proposal
Hello!
Hoping to get some direction for optimal savings to ensure that I am not missing out on potential opportunities knowing that I do not have any immediate need for my current savings.
I paid off my consumer proposal in Jan 2025 and it will remain on my report until Dec 2026 (6 years from filing date). Covid times really set me back and I am fortunate to have moved on from that part of my life. I state this seeing how I am not considering home ownership in the near future.
Current situation :
39, single, no kids (Ontario)
Monthly obligations : $2300/mth (rent, car insurance, phone, internet, food)
Income : (2 jobs) net $4800/mth
Main job is stable 65k gross and 2nd job is reselling with consistent returns
My vehicle is paid off and reliable
Current state :
RRSP (6% plus employer 50% match) : $11,000
ESPP (9% plus 3% taxable employer match) : $12,500
FHSA : $16,000 CASH.TO (deposited $100 last year and $15,900 this year)
Chequing : $2500
Savings : $6500
I currently do not hold any debt, and building my credit with the following active credit cards :
RBC cashback : $500 limit
Capital One : $1050 limit
Capital One : $5000 limit
Understanding that I will receive a tax refund based on FHSA and RRSP deposits, would love to hear on where to allocate that and my monthly savings knowing that I wouldn't need to touch it for a few years at least.
Thank you!
