AIO I'm upset at my husband for refusing to provide military benefits to my daughter
Hi all, I am 39 y.o. female married to my 40 y/o male. He makes about 200k and I make 100k a year. I am currently 12 weeks pregnant with our son . I have a daughter 17yo from a previous relationship who lives with us. Currently, we are in the process to applying to colleges. We completed fafsa last week and noticed our income bracket is too high with both of our salaries and she wont be eligible for any financial aid. The school counselor told us that if I had not married last year, my income alone would have qualified her for some aid. She told us that as a military family (My husband is in army reseve) that there are some benefits that my daughter could take advantage as his stepdaughter (about 2 years of full school tuition and housing). When I talked to my husband about it, he stated that he would have to commit another 4 years of service and he did not want to do it. He was planing to quit in January 2026. He said that my daughter could take loans like everyone else and that I could use all my paycheck if needed to suport her. He will take care of the house bills. However, he does not count that I am pregnant with our child and that pregnancy usually means a decrease in pay from my end without counting I can't work extra time given I will have to do baby care. I am really upset at this, as I feel he is very selfish 😔 and only thinking of himself. I am having our child so we can grow as a family and taking all the health risks that come with a pregnancy at my age (he has no children and really wanted to be a father) My daughter's biological father has been MIA since she was 1 year old. I m overreacting?
