How to become a runner
Hi you all great mamas
I have now two kids (2.5 years and 7 months). I have been active through both pregnancies and after, and been very active prior to the pregnancies. Cycling, strength training, rowing, Nordic skiing. Overall have a very good vo2max and good strength.
Different from the first kid was that I now buildt up brick by brick with a pelvic floor therapist, and I am now able to run 20k ish per week. I have never really been running that much. But now I’m really motivated to keep running. It’s just so convenient with small kids. I can use running with a stroller as transport - and get my exercise in. Running is so easy.
Have always been thinking that running “is not for me”. But I mean, why not? I have just never been doing it that much. And of course those first running trips are hard and you feel like a whale. Maybe I can be a runner also?
Has anyone here done the journey becoming a runner? With good shape, but not the running experience? Have you experienced some do’s and dont’s?
