Is 8mm too small for a healed vch piercing

I kept the jewelry it was pierced with for quite a long time. I’ve had it nearly 2 years and it’s fully healed. Recently went down to 8mm because I didn’t want it to move around so much. Is 8mm too short, is it fine, or does it depend on the piercing? Asking here because I moved away from my piercer but if it’s dependent on the person I can go ask a local piercer to look at it
