In-Laws 親家 / host gifts

Discussion

Hey all, I was born in Taiwan, our family grew up in California, and now I'm bringing back my dude (2nd time) and his folks (1st time) for our lunch banquet. They are white Americans from the Southern US, and his parents wanted to know what they could bring as host gifts.

Things to know: Parents are also Chinese-American, so we spent twenty years living in NorCal, and they've been back in Taiwan for a while. So not necessarily super traditional. Also Buddhist vegetarian, if that matters, and not (that much) into ostentatious displays of wealth.

Here's my short list so far:

  • crochet from step-MIL
  • fancy peanuts from their state
  • Dried fruits.
  • art of their state
  • groom & BIL as kids.
  • a card with a handwritten letter inside

what else y'all got for us?

(I'll also happily consider whatever other "traditional" gift ideas you've got, even if only to make this thread useful for others.)

多謝! Thanks!
