Haplogroup I-FT2037: from France to Finland?
I’m a Finnish male. My dad’s brother tested with FamilyTreeDNA, and if I understand correctly, we belong to quite rare haplogroup I-FT2037. Its most recent common ancestor lived around 1700 in France, and the tested persons are located in France/Flanders.
By genealogy, we know that our earliest known ancestor was born in the late 1700s in southwest Finland to a maid working in a manor, but the father remains unknown. How is this possible? Could the mystery man have been of Flanders origin, maybe a soldier?
