MACI (condroncites) for an osteocondral lesion
So here I am... One year after I twisted my ankle ans still searching for the best way for healing...
It took them 8 months to give me this diagnosis: osteocondral lesion on the astragal. Then I started therapy and it seemed that it was getting better. But no... It always comes back.
For the moment the pain is not very high, but it is always there and I am not running or jumping. Just walking (and not a lot) and lifting soft weights at the gym.
I am 34, woman, and sports lover. During the last months I was expecting that my body would lower the inflammation and I would go back to normally. But it is not happing. So, I started to search for options:
- The microperforation and the "cleaning" with artroscopia don't seem to give very good results after a couple a years.
- Mosaicoplastia sounds interesting.
- Stem cells is also a good option. I heard very good things from Regenerexx, but I am spanish and this is very far away. They also say that the knowledge of the person that puts it is very inportant in this technique.
- And MACI: which seems to be the best option, moreover for people that haven't made surgeries yet (which is my case). But.... it is mega expensive and it requires 2 months without putting any weight and 1 more with sticks. The good part: the best clinic in the world is located in Spain (Clinica Cemtro) and I have already asked them to review my case and give me their opinion...
I would like to ask if somebody has made a procedure like this and their process and results.
Can you share your experience??
Thank you all!!
