Tips for DIY bumper repair - just to make it look decent

HELP! I have a question.

I’ve got a rough front bumper and don’t have time to replace it before a wedding next week(just got the car). I just want it to look passable in photos, not perfect.

  • Passenger side: Previous owner globbed bondo on the corner, never sanded it. I brushed on some touch-up paint and it made the lump more obvious. My plan was to wet sand with 1000+ grit and re-touch it, but I realized that might be too fine to flatten bondo. Would starting with 400–600 grit, then stepping up to 1000–1500 before blending with paint, be a better approach? Or is there a smarter shortcut to make it look flatter for a week? Once sanded, can i just apply touch-up paint? I have 1oz of my paint, i won't get a rattle can in time but i can go to the autopart store for a can of primer or clear.

  • Driver side: The corner has a crack. I was going to reinforce the backside with JB Weld Plastic Bonder or a similar epoxy to keep it from spreading, and then lightly sand/touch-up the outside so it doesn’t stand out. Would this hold well enough short-term?

Any advice from people who’ve done quick cosmetic fixes would help a lot. Not looking for show quality — just “good from 10 feet away.”

Thanks!
