Where to begin with lifting weights, when I have zero background in doing so?

I’m 17 and female. I know everything about boxing and Muay Thai. I’ve been boxing since I was 8, and doing Muay Thai since 10. Been obsessed with it and studying\training it my whole life. I competed in boxing but now fully switched to Thai and have my first fight soon. I only do low weight high rep, callisthenics, body weight exercises. My striking is really fast and powerful.

However… one thing that is lacking is my clinch. I LOVE the clinch, but as technical as it is, a lot of the time it’s also just pure strength. Everyone I’ve clinched who’s really really good in the clinch, have all told me that they lift heavy weights.

There’s one small woman I train with, she’s like 45kg, her striking feels very soft, but it feels like she’s 65kg when clinching, it’s absolutely insane. Her clinch is amazing. She lifts heavy weights a lot and she told me that’s probably what it is.

I have no clue about anything to do with lifting weights, even after asking people I train with. I just don’t understand where to look\start, what exercises to start with, as everyone is telling me different things, and the embarrassment of starting off so light\using the completely foreign gym equipment. So yeah, plz help!!
