5M with vocal polyps?

5 male 50lb Caucasian no meds

My kid has a “gravely” voice and has for quite some time since he could speak. It’s not like RFK level of voice but sounds similar to someone who was sick recently. He had severe reflux as a baby which was treated with meds at the time but seemed to go away. Lately he’s been having some reflux here and there and the doctor said the voice sounded more gravely and suggested possible elimination diets to find a good intolerance, potential GERD medication trials, and then lastly check for polyps. She said the only way to check for a polyp is via endoscopy which feels very invasive for a kid. I am curious if anyone has experience with this specific situation and if any advice can be offered? This was all mentioned briefly at the end of a regular checkup and I’d have to pay to talk to the doctor again, but she didn’t seem particularly experienced with this issue. Would an ENT be better to meet with?
