iud or literally anything else?
For context I have been on the pill (combination) for a little over a year, having gone off of it in march of this year. i primarily stopped because, as i wasnt seeing anyone, i started getting lax with the timing and i could feel it messing with my hormones. if i was consistent with the schedule i would 100% still be taking them as i have had little to no symptoms and it did regulate my period.
i have had my period twice since then, once in may and once at the end of september.
i have never successfully inserted a tampon and i also have a more difficult than average time inserting... anything. have yet to see an OBGYN as for why, but thats a factor in some of my concerns here.
to the meats and potatoes of the story,,,,
now, i started seeing someone a little over a month ago and things started getting serious rather quickly. we had the conversation of me going on birth control to which i do agree should happen (as much as i would prefer the man to do the birth control thing im also not against it for myself regarding other precautions outside of the relationship).
he suggested i just go on the pill again but i explained i dont want to worry about being so precise everyday for a less per cent chance of pregnancy. so i am considering an IUD. i called and made an appointment this upcoming week at PP and they have me booked for liletta. but im not sure if its the best option.
as someone with a harder time getting anything in there is that going to increase the pain and discomfort during insertion?? thinking about the chances of it dislocating or something similar makes me feel queasy to the point im not sure if i should consider either the shot or the arm implant.
i feel like i see horror stories all around, and im looking for earnest advice on what gets tossed around vs the realities and genuine chances of very negative side effects. also this may be slightly juvenile but a concern of mine is also acne. i know its different for everyone. no two snowflakes are the same and all. but do any of these options generally have a lower chance of this? does the fact that the pill not giving me major side effects kinda give a glance to the chances of me not experiencing side effects on other methods?
any and all advice appreciated and will answer any questions
