(NEED HELP) Cannot get recording to work for Onn 4K Plus

Need some help from this community and thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

Here are the steps that I followed to try to record a program.

1) hit the RED record button in EPG and get this error dialog

2) Hit OK and this setting screen comes up and then i click the radio button to allow Alarms & Reminders for Sparkle TV

3. Then I go back and try to start a recording again, and I get the same message about the feature needing permission from the system.
