Is it normal for it to take over a month to lay down laminate plank flooring?
Our insurance hired these contractors, and it’s been one screw-up after another. One crew left all of our flooring outside for days in the Florida weather.
We got a new crew, and they cut an inch off all the way around the baseboards. They hammered one plank, then noticed they had damaged it and cut it out with a saw. Then they scooted our piano over the new floor until my husband heard the scraping and told them to stop, and he ended up helping. We also noticed they used a cut-up, dirty rug from the garbage to put under the piano to slide it.
After that, they threw all the material out by the street for our garbage men to pick up. They were supposed to order a dumpster but didn’t.
Then we got another crew, and now they want to level the entire floor. Yesterday, they were supposed to be here at 9, but they didn’t show up until 6. They worked for two hours and then left. When we asked the project manager how long it was going to take, he said until Friday. Now they are requesting more money from our insurance that we have to wait even longer to get approved because he said the moisture reading is 5 which is on the high side of normal so they want to add a moisture primer or something like that.
