What’s the risk

I have a lot of left over prednisone from my last taper where I spent 7 days at each level and went from 40mg>30mg>20mg>10mg. Currently I’m in the process of switching GI doctors, I stopped taking sulfasalazine because I was having a horrible reaction to it but now my classic crohns symptoms are back along with a calpro level over 2000. I’m going on vacation next week so would it be so stupid of me to self prescribe a small prednisone taper? I would spend 6 days at each level and go from 30mg>20mg>10mg. I know yall aren’t doctors but has anyone ever done this? I feel like with my calpro that high I should be on it anyways but switching doctors is a process, thoughts?
