Carrier leaves "sorry we missed you" post-it. She didn't even try to deliver the package.
This happened years ago, but having found this subreddit, I'm curious about this.
I happened to be sitting near my front door when I heard the mailbox being closed. My doorbell did not ring, and I heard no knock at the door.
I went out to fetch my mail, and found one of those yellow slips saying they'd attempted to deliver a package, but I wasn't home. The carrier was literally still walking across my lawn when I read it.
I said, "Here I am, can I have my package?"
She admitted she hadn't even brought it, since "Most people aren't home during the day."
(How would she know if she doesn't even ring the bell!
Was she allowed to do that?
(To her credit, she did deliver it later that day.)
