Giacomo Casanova doesn't deserve his "World's Greatest Lover" reputation
I used to think “Casanova” meant king of romance or master of charm. The dude’s name is literally shorthand for being good with women. But when you look at the real Casanova? He wasn’t a player at all, but just a creep with status.
Most of his “conquests” were super young (underage by today’s standards), usually broke girls way below his social rank, or prostitutes he straight up paid. His youngest was literally a 9 year old child he passed off to a rich buddy. The wildest part? He considered women in their early-to-late 20s "past their bloom" and spent his life manipulating emotionally vulnerable teenage girls. If that is "game", then Roblox predators are the biggest Chads in the world by this definition.
Even Walter from My Secret Life, another predatory sexual libertine who prided himself on "seducing" women, still had plenty of lovers in their 20s and 30s. And before you start, Walter and Casanova were only a century apart - so saying the "past is the past" won't excuse it, Casanova avoided grown women because they were harder to manipulate.
There's nothing alpha about that. He wasn't smooth or irresistible; he just was a weak man who chose even weaker targets. In all honesty, our modern era probably has had the most genuinely "playboy" type of men than any time in the past, where men could cheat their way into sexual relations by providing resources.
Broke ass dudes in the hood with multiple baby mamas have legit more game just based on their presence and looks alone. Even someone like Harry Styles and Pete Davidson is more genuinely desirable than this lame ass 18th century Jeffrey Epstein.
TL;DR Casanova wasn't a legend of romance, he was basically an 18th-century Epstein
