Work environment? What do employees say?

I wonder if there are any DO employees that subscribe to the subreddit.. anyway, a friend of mine would like to apply to DO, but wants to know if employees recommend it. This would be on the networking side of the engineering team. I'm not sure exactly where.

My friend says they pay less than where he's at now, although he would be able to learn some new technologies. There's also the interesting twist where a fully remote company now requires you to be near an office, and a change in management has left mixed reviews. Can anyone give me the short and sweet to pass along? Thanks
