I need help finding my first topper

Alternative Hair

I posted this in r/wigs but didn't receive any helpful feedback, so I'm trying again here. I'm having trouble finding a hair topper that looks realistic. I'm in the US and I've gone to multiple in-person salons for assistance but am still not finding anything. It's been a long and frustrating process, so I'm hoping I can get some help here because I've seen so many people with realistic looking toppers online.

I have FFA and AGA, so I need front and top coverage. I have a sensitive scalp due to the FFA (gets itchy and hot), so I may use velcro instead of clips on the sides and will find sensitive skin tape for the lace front. I have naturally fine, wavy hair. Even before hair loss, I never had thick hair. Most toppers seem to look ridiculous on me because they are so dense.

I know I want European human hair, low density, with a lace front in order to best match my hair type and recreate a hairline. I also need naturally wavy hair, which I know is possible but more challenging to find.

Questions:

  • Are there online shops that sell the kind of topper I am looking for?

  • Where can I order a custom human hair topper that will allow me to choose the base type and size, the hair type (European human hair, wavy), etc.?

  • How can I measure my scalp to make sure I get the right size base?

  • What kind of base type is best for sensitive scalps prone to heat and itching, and also looks realistic?

  • What kind of lace front is best for sensitive skin prone to itching and also those needing a realistic hairline?

Ideally I would like to spend $2000 max, but what's most important to me is that it looks as realistic as possible. I am willing to pay what I have to in order to get something that will work for me.
