4K player sound into Playbar issue

Not sure where to post this so I'll do a hopeful hail mary here...

The Playbar works for my Apple TV and sound works from my new Panasonic 4K player out the Playbar BUT only where it is playing commentary with movie sound, not for normal sound. It goes silent when I switch it to movie sound.

The disc Menu's play sound through Playbar as well. Just no active movie sound at all.

I'm quite confused how the disc can play with movie sound and commentary through the playbar, but not using the normal sound setting alone. I've tried it with multiple discs and have tried all the settings I can. Frankly, I'm a little confused by all the options with the 4K player.

• Audio connected optical out of TV into Playbar
