In brief, I feel like the right model for a two State solution in the Middle East is based on what we see in Italy. The larger area, Palestine, would cede a smaller section of a city to a religious sect. Similar to the way that the Vatican City is located in Italy. This would respect the actual ethnic, cultural, and other social fabric of the region. The religious order could operate semi-autonomously inside their compound and the rest of the world could go on about their business.

I mean seriously. When was the last time you heard the Pope suggest that all Catholics should support killing everyone on the West Bank of the Tibor and establishing a Greater Vatican in what used to be Rome before the decades of starvation and then compulsory bombing?
