With Monad's mainnet near and airdrop claims at 51% loading, Monad is primed for NFT renaissance. Ethereum's 2020-2022 NFT boom peaked at 25B+ volume wasn't just hype, It was a massive social + technical experiment that shaped Web3 culture.

Monad is still early, but if it pays attention to these lessons, Monad can avoid mistakes and accelerate adoption.

**1. Community > Tech**

ETH NFTs thrived on vibes, not perfection, BAYC's Ape Fest and Punks lore outshone gas wars.

Monad offers speed and low gas fees, but rather than relying solely on these features, the real value lies in investing in culture and narratives around NFT projects. While Monad NFT projects are already building this foundation, the key will be sustaining it post launch.

**2. Creators Need Clear Onramps**

Ethereum NFTs exploded because creators had easy tools ready at the perfect time not just OpenSea, but platforms like Foundation (curated artist auctions), Rarible (simple community minting), and Manifold (custom smart contract builders).

Prioritize creators with an All-in-One Creator Hub, combining minting, pricing, analytics, royalties, and community building into a single dashboard would empower creators and strengthen the ecosystem.

**3. Narrative Power = Network Effect**

ETH went viral via celeb flexes and digital identity stories, Eminem's BAYC buy sparked FOMO.

NFT projects need simple storytelling hooks (identity, gaming skins, collectibles) that click with outsiders. Not just “fast chain NFTs”.

**4. Don't Ignore Royalties + Creator Economy**

Ethereum's royalties drama (Blur vs OpenSea) showed how fragile creator trust is. many artists felt betrayed when secondary sales bypassed their cuts. As total NFT sales hit $574M in July 2025 (with ETH dominating at $276M) creators are craving sustainable revenue.

Lesson for Monad: Bake in fair revenue models for creators early. Don't wait for marketplaces to fight over them.

**5. Experimentation Brings Breakouts**

Ethereum NFTs exploded because of wild experiments:
Generative art (Art Blocks)
Profile pics (BAYC, Punks)
Music NFTs, Gaming NFTs

Monad is already buzzing with 100+ experimental NFT projects and robust cultural support. The next BAYC could be born here.

Final Take

Ethereum's NFT boom wasn't just about JPEGs. It was a cultural movement built on:
1) Community
2) Simplicity
3) Storytelling
4) Fair creator economics
5) Bold experiments

Monad's in the prime spot to reignite the NFT scene its lightning-fast 10k+ TPS and EVM compatibility fix the old pain points like high fees and slow mints.

The key? Flawless launches, compelling storytelling to draw people in, and genuine connections that build lasting communities.

Monad doesn't just launch NFTs, it sparks a cultural explosion. Who's ready to launch?
