Udupi, Karnataka – In a major breakthrough, police have arrested the fourth accused in connection with the brutal murder of AKMS bus owner Saifuddin, who was hacked to death at his Kodavoor residence on September 27, 2025.

The latest arrest is that of Ridha Shabana (27), wife of the prime accused Faizal Khan. Police allege that she played an active role in planning and coordinating the conspiracy behind the murder. Earlier, Faizal Khan, Muhammad Sharif, and Abdul Shukoor—all known to be Saifuddin’s former friends and business associates—were arrested for executing the killing.

According to police, Saifuddin, a rowdy-sheeter with 18 criminal cases, including two murder charges, was lured from his Manipal residence to his Kodavoor house, where he was attacked with machetes and sharp weapons, leading to his instant death.

Investigations suggest financial disputes and personal enmity were behind the crime. Ridha’s arrest now brings all key suspects into custody, though police continue to probe other potential links and motives.

Authorities have urged the public not to spread rumors that may disturb communal harmony while the investigation progresses.

The arrest has been widely praised for its swift and effective action by Udupi Police, who are now focusing on uncovering the full conspiracy and any remaining accomplices.
