I really screwed up starting with a business partner

My business partner told me today that he has “lost faith in our business”. He was my best friend and we started an online auction house. My part in the business was to do the day to day work while he put up some capital and handled the accounting. We are only 2 months into the business and 2 auctions in. The first auction went horrible but the second auction went great. The third one is currently running and doing great as well. I think he expected us to be getting these extravagant consignments and making these huge moves. We are both in similar capital input which is under a $1000. This mistake of bringing in my friend has really set me back. Now I’m focused of paying his input off to get him out of the company. I also lost my best friend. It’s hard to be friends with someone who told you they lost faith in a company when you are the one that is doing all of the work.
