Finally went back and finished Yakuza 7, here’s my final ranking before Kiwami 3 comes out:

DISCUSSION

I played LAD: Gaiden and Infinite Wealth when they came out, not having played Yakuza 7 because I’m not a huge fan of RPG’s and was apprehensive about it. I ended up enjoying Infinite Wealth’s combat soo much when it came out (the story, not so much, I think the bucket list section for Kiryu was one of my favorite things though as I am a sucker for nostalgic moments and it was that all jampacked into one side story which felt awesome). I recently went back and finally played and finished 7 though. While the combat didn’t feel as good as IW it was still really fun and the story was great! That being said, here’s my final ranking of all the main games (I’m sure when Kiwami 3 comes out my list may change cause I loved the story of 3 but the gameplay held it back, and it looks like Kiwami 3 will have a lot more to bring). I’m eager to see what people think of my ranking! Maybe it’s a little basic, maybe some disagreements?

From favorite to least favorite (although of course I love them all) in terms of story and gameplay both:

  1. Yakuza 0
  2. Yakuza Kiwami 1
  3. Yakuza Kiwami 2
  4. Yakuza: Like A Dragon
  5. Yakuza 6: Song Of Life
  6. Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth
  7. Yakuza 5
  8. Yakuza 3
  9. Yakuza 4

It felt weird to slot LAD: Gaiden or Pirate Yakuza in there so for this list I didn’t, and I have yet to play Ishin. Currently finishing my replay of Gaiden and Infinite Wealth now that I’m fresh off of 7, I don’t think my opinions will change but at the very least now I have some more context going into the story!
