⭐️APPRECIATION POST- Something memorable happened with a stranger guy on Garba💃
Long short story 😁😁
I've lived in Ahmedabad for a while, but when it comes to Garba, I've always been the outsider. I never danced. Never tried. Every year, my office folks would hype it up, push me to buy tickets, and once we reached the venue, they'd vanish into their own circles. Me always left alone, be an audience and help the dancers click pictures while they are having fun, & telling myself maybe next year 🫠🫠But the truth was... i was all by myself 😔
So this year l.e, 2025 l decided to not to spend on any aesthetics, no purchasing outfits, no prep, & no fake enthusiasm. I told myself l'd rather stay home than feel left out again. Also hell bent strong and declined requests to join Garba even when folks around motivated me like they previously did .
But time has this funny 🤣 way of proving you wrong 😑 when you least expect it😇
On the 8th night of Navratri, just felt like going. No plans, no Chaniya chuli, no makeup but a simple ethnic wear showing up with zero expectations. I went with one of my acquaintance & finally showed up myself like every year I did ,while the folks disappeared 🫠☹️into the crowd minutes after we arrived 😃
To show some effort, I joined the last line of the circle and I was the last one 😒, and I vibed with the music, singing, beats, Bhakti, & watching everyone in rhythm.Just to not to look completely lost😞 also ,I was pretending to play Garba🙂
That's when this happened🥰🥳🩷🩵💚💜
A guy who is a total stranger joined the circle after me with his family of three women, one among them is a granny figure. He was recording a video while playing Garba, noticed my subtle moves and asked me :
"Nhi aata khenla?" he asked. I said, "Nah."
And his instant response was, "It's easy! It's just a square. He infact, gave me a counting 1, 2, 3, 4... through the music and beats, trying to help me to catch the rhythm. Stupid me🤦♀️ was distracted & embarrassed😞 thinking about the ppl with whom I came and again the pattern so called "Left alone" repeated.
He noticed I kept missing the steps ( Reality: I wasn't 😵 mentally present) even after half the circle. He paused for quick 2 sec and gently reached out, held my hand for a second time and said, "Let's start again" 😵💫🥰🫠
Idk what happened, I did played garba ever after 😇
Amidst thousands of people, loud music, and swirling colors, we moved together slowly, but also felt little awkward , then suddenly, effortlessly☺️After a few messy steps, I got it. I was doing Garba. For the first time in my life 🥰while the ladies weren't having any problem of him teaching me 😉
We danced three-fourths of the circle holding hands together matching steps with his family who were absolute pros and I got in sync with the whole crowd😇I could feel this wave of warmth, confidence, and pure joy I hadn't felt in years especially for Garba. I learned three types which idk what it's called. But a stranger's help in the middle of chaos changed everything for me, to be the one in one, - “The Elated Moment “ 💫💫
I ended up dancing for over an hour that night. By the end, I felt I wasn't an outsider anymore. I was part of the rhythm, the colors, the magic. Now I finally understand why people here love Garba so deeply — it's not just a dance; it's connection, celebration, and heart.♥️
As I choose my own pace and moved faster I couldn’t able to get any picture with him who taught me in that dire crowd, who changed my perspective, who actually encouraged me to do something which I never did, perhaps failed in my previous try. I did garba for the whole night till dawn I never found him again 🫤
So, If that guy is ever on "Reddit" WITH DUE RESPECT I DEDICATE THIS POST😇☺️ to him as a Gratitude & Appreciation Spent few minutes but it's itched for a lifetime memory 🥰
As per my observation that guy Wearing :Black Patani, multi color dupatta. Hair type :curl hair. Skin type: very fair skin. Height :5.4- 5.5 ft height. Body type :Lean body but not so lean. **Came with 3 women.
Thanks for everyone for reading until the end. Big hearts 🫶🫶❣️
