Help with food? Update

Earlier today I made a since deleted post about how I (24m) have been homeless for about three weeks following me leaving my step fathers abusive household. I have no friends to stay with, no family that cares, and my county in North/Central NJ was out of funding for nearly everything. I asked for help with food for the day and a redditor was able to help me get food at McDonald’s, and I have food left over for tomorrow. I want to thank everyone who gave me advice on my previous post.

I’ve tried every local resource including 211 and the DV hotline and the only help I’ve received so far is the offer to stay at the only shelter currently available for young men in my county, although it doesn’t feel safe or sanitary and have opted to remain moving around, and on the street until I start working in the coming weeks.

I’m not sure of all the rules on Reddit, as I couldn’t post a gofundme or request on loan reddits when I first left my step dads home, so I lost my opportunity at renting a room. If it’s allowed, I’ll post the link to the previous deleted post below. Thank you all
