make my old tablet compatible with new/modern apps?

i was recently given an old (but well taken care of) Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 (model number SM-T210R), and i was wondering if there was anyway i could download apps that aren't compatible onto it. maybe if there was some accessory or a separate extension i could plug into it? i may be reaching and hoping for something that's not possible but i was just curious. i couldn't find anything online that said i could, or gave instructions
