Newport Beach curfew?

Can I get clarification please. So I’ve fallen asleep on Newport Beach in the sand and woke up at 3 am and went home. I live 2 hours away. It’s just peaceful for me so I do it. However I went last weekend and an officer was announcing that the beach was now closed and it was like 1 am I believe ? So what’s the actual times so I won’t be going against the rules?
