Character Personality/individuality: Insomnia Ramble of an Idiot

hi internet, middle of the night insomnia here. I tend to simulate and run interaction in my head quite a lot since forever, i do it with peoples i know, games characters, my D&D (placeholder word) characters and npc. other media characters. ( characters from chatbots have not quite reached that spot in my brain yet. )
I did this long before the Ai hype (or even what i consider the oldschool llm, Aidungeon was a thing idk if its still is a thing). call it somewhat vivid awake dreaming wtvr thats kinda the idea...
And i can generally maintain an entertaining interaction for between 10-60 minutes but it always ends abruptly somewhat.

Anyway, i think its enough context to get to the point of why im rambling here, I came to realise today/tonight, that the reason is because i can't simulate in real time a fully different personality, every one have their own quirks, and kinda patern of behavior , and kinda predictable reaction to some specific stimuli. but im always me even if 1% so all simulation is like different artist painting the same character they can't escape their artstyle not fully.
Now, llm most of them also have those quirks, and patern, predictable answer, some quirks are somewhat seen accross multiple llm, the likes of "lean in close to your ear" , some tho are more niche, like deepseek for me often repeated the patern of narrating character conflicting thought to action in a very specific manner i can't recall exact wording on top of my head, that was different than any llm i used prior, but after extended use of deepseek was very noticable across any character that had completly different bios personality

My brain can't do it, wich is why i have D&D campaign cuze that way other character are played by other brain, its also why i use chatbot the other input being the llm with the character context
Before tonight what i was thinking was, then separate character into multiple "brain" , a system similar to the structure of alien isolation (the game), i don't rly follow the ai news it move too fast, but i think some people are trying to do it somewhere where they have the director Game master bot that dictate the truth of the world to the character bot, but both would run on the same llm how group chatbot work kinda

But now im thinking, that wouldn't work, because if both your god , and every person in the world have the same quirks then it doesn't work, eatch character would still feel sameish, what would be cool is having a brain per character. Wich i think atm is probably not viable, since it equate training an llm for eatch character (there are like million charcters, tho many are pretty similar to one another, so could be an llm for a character "type").
While it might not be possible/viable at current, when i think about it , i see that if all the little annoying "lean in close to your ear" type thing and quirks would be tied to the character itself instead, it would be "chatbot quirks in general" but that specific character quirks, wich would be a benefit to the character personality instead of a negative
Its like we use the tech and spread it too thin, asking it to be scyzophrenic while the base tech is trying to make a singular coherent robot assistant

Im probably forgetting something, my mind got foggy and my eyes got blurry, as i wrote.... hope it made any lick of sense to anyone wasting their time reading this, probably useless, stupidity sometimes inspire genius to do something completly unrelated. wich is one of its redeeming quality i think.

Afterthought kinda tl:dr: we are kinda asking llm to roleplay everything, but if you are everything you are nothing specific,(tho i think the current lack is that llm are not at the everything all encompassing stage so we are asking a character un-well-categorized "type" to roleplay all type), but what if we asked them to roleplay like a human player would (llm per character "type" /role) , or as themselve (llm per character,)

TLDR: Sleepy Insomnia, I have vivid dream,realised why they end fast, drew parrallel, proposing an idea that probably exist if its not dumb, and doesn't for good reason if its dumb, about making eatch character its own llm so llm quirk are character tied and a + not - . because if my single brain can't replicate something completly different than myself without the help of another brain, then why shoulld we expect a system to make something outside of its core behavior
