Bridging WP?

Hi everyone,

I am currently on a closed work permit (WP) that expires at the end of March 2026. I’ve submitted my full PR (via express entry) application on Aug 23 and did biometrics+medical on Oct 2.

Given my timeline, my question is whether I should apply for a bridging open WP, and if so, when? How long does it typically take for such a WP to be accepted?

I will keep working with the same employer next year. So an alternative -i think- is to ask my employer for a renewal of my current closed WP (which in my case is via the LMIA-exempt closed WP stream). Not sure if this is preferred over the bridging one!
