Maliketh 2nd phase help

I can nail phase one easily but man phase 2 he nails me almost immediately, even with 55 vigor and a physic. I hate that when phase 2 starts you’re not in the same position you were in at the end of phase 1.

I’ve seen videos saying your best bet for phase 2 is to be right under him but man it seems like once it starts I get a double body slam that kills me before I can even move.

How do others do phase 2? What’s your first move as soon as the animation stops?
