Dragancea problems

Hi all,

Need your help with my dragancea plant. Short history: I was gifted a Dragon tree in may. It had three plants in one pot. Through the summer these little white bugs appeared that I assumed were mealybugs. The plant also didn't have much space so i thought they appeared because of that and poor thing was too tight to fight. Couple of weeks ago i repotted it. Put biggest one and littlest one into a bigger pot and the middle one separated out into a different pot. used house plant soil+ generous amount of perlite. During repotting i freed up the roots from a huge rootball. I washed the plant generously to remove the bugs. After repotting i didnt really water it that much. A week later I spotted some of those white spots again and wiped each leaf with a soap solution and a cloth. Didnt water it for another week. In both pots the soil is still quite moist and in the big pot a lot of leaves gone brown and dry and started falling off. The remaining are droopy.

Chat gpt recommended checking out the roots. I took out the 2 plants from the big pot. The large plants roots were so rotten i ended up cutting them completely and the smaller one has a little bit left of roots. Washed them both and cleaned the bugs off. Sprayed insecticide.

Any chance to salvage either? Im worried its a lost cause due to mealybug infection..
