Motivations to create a simulation

Discussion

The creator is God, and God has experience of all things.

God wishes to experience anew.

The simulation has some function that brings some "blind" property to God. This opens the necessary space for God to experience novelty. The ancient Egyptians and others always spoke of their gods being "blind in one eye."

When to heaven, those who were "stuck in the simulation" discover the "the summer on the loftiest heights, with cold fountains and blissful stillness." There God is and one understands spending eternities there can get boring with no novelty, and foreknowledge of everything. The blindness makes sense. The experiences of life connect with God who shares their experience of life as they experienced it. God prefers those who bring novelty to him.

The desire to create a simulation would be enhanced if in the past there were an event so outrageous, that God wishes to experience it again repeatedly in slightly different ways to experience the triumph. Nietzche's eternal return doesn't say this but the idea of a repeat of events is present in philosophy/spirituality. There is no conflict between novelty and a repetition, provided things change.
