The Sword of Damocles destroyer is the UC Navy’s designated M-class killer. When UC scouts and expeditionary fleets encounter larger vessels or unidentified M-class ships, a special distress call is sent to the Damocles and its support craft. While exceptionally well-armed and armored, the Damocles is particularly vulnerable to smaller more maneuverable vessels due to its armaments being designed for taking out larger, slower moving targets.

Upon arriving in hostile space, the Damocles will hone in on its target while Dogcatcher-class frigates provide cover from enemy fighters, and Viceroy-class heavy fighters mop up smaller ships.

Once within range, the Damocles will begin laying down a withering barrage of particle cannon fire while the EM Arrays behind the bridge begin charging. When fully charged, they release an EM blast that can rip a massive hole in enemy shields, and the electrical interference can prevent the shielding from recharging at the area of impact, creating a firing solution for the Damocles’ main cannon.

When ready to fire, the Damocles reroutes all power to the main cannon, relying on its support vessels for defense, and unleashes what is best described as a tiny star, an impossibly hot and bright ball of plasma that hurtles towards the enemy vessel. After the initial impact, the projectile collapses in on itself, causing immense damage to the target and anything unfortunate enough to be caught in the blast radius.
