If 28 Months Later got made in some form, it would be cool for it to bridge the important transition between Weeks and Years

The opening text crawl of Years establishes that the virus was fought back from Europe, and within that there’s potential for a movie all by itself, especially since the fates of Andy and Tammy are unresolved and look unlikely.

Going from Weeks to Months gives the chance to skip in time after the virus came to France and show it being successful in some fashion. Then, you show the decisions being made to just cut off Britain completely and leave it stranded as a dark ending that feeds into Years’s setting.

The biggest issue would be Imogen and the kid who played Andy being older, plus the predictable ending, so maybe a new set of characters would mitigate this but there could still be a decent story told within it.
