Aggressive driving laws

Hi , so like many of us here I have seen an increase in aggressive drivers , the last incident when I called the police they basically told me there was nothing they could do about it , so if I get a dash cam and am able to record these actions would I be more likely to be able to get something done ? The other day a driver was tailgating me ( I was in the right lane doing the speed limit ) as he passed me he swerved into my lane, attempted to run me off the road , then when he got in front of me he kept hitting his breaks trying to make me rear end him, I back off, he slowed down and continues to hit his breaks, I was not in a position to pass as the left lane was steady traffic , at each red light we stopped at he would throw trash out of his window at my car , if I caught all of this on dash cam , would it be enough for police to do something?
