Can I go straight into season 2 if I didn’t watch the last few episodes of season 1?

So after the conquest of Constantinople, I kinda got bored of the show and stopped watching after the trial between the Sultan and the guy who he cut the hand off. Do I have to continue before going into season 2? Because I wanna skip tbh. I do know that Candarli and the two lovebirds die and that the architect guy becomes Muslim
