Chelsea Gray's path from Duke to 3x WNBA champion shows what elite college development looks like
Gray set Duke's all-time assist records (545 career assists, 201 in one season) and was ACC Co-Player of the Year before suffering two devastating kneecap injuries that ended her college career early.
Fast forward to now: she's in her 5th WNBA Finals appearance, has 3 championships, won Finals MVP in 2022, and just put up 10 assists in Game 1 at age 32. Her Duke experience—both the success and the adversity—built the foundation for becoming one of the most clutch playoff performers in WNBA history.
Wrote a deep dive on how her college career shaped her October dominance. Interesting to see how those 545 Duke assists translated to her "Point Gawd" nickname and her ability to elevate teammates in the biggest moments. More on the blog: https://www.fandaily.io/blog/chelsea-gray-october-basketball
