AITAH and would you be upset too?

AITAH for being really anxious and irritated at my roommate?

My partner and I moved in with one of our closest friends. We love her so much but she hasn’t been doing anything really. My partner and I both work quite a bit and I am in the midst of a tattoo apprenticeship. Our friends works 3 Times a week, always in the evening. Since she hasn’t moved in I have cleaned and organized most of her things because she just left them in the kitchen. I stayed up for hours on end organizing cleaning all of her dishes form her old place, making sure things had a spot. I have been stressing as well, about probably the most impactful stressor: our cats.

Our friend has a cat. He’s cute like every cat is. However, my partners and i’s cats are very shy and prefer their space. Our boy cat does not like her cat at all, and he has been groaning and hissing at her cat for a while since we had introduced them. My roommate decided to hiss back at our cat… I ddint really like that at all but I should have communicated that to her.

Her cat will stare at ours while he eats, rock the cat tree while he’s trying to sleep on it, invade his space. He is very anxious about this and has been trying his best not to fight him, and they haven’t gotten into a bad fight as of now.

However, the other day while we were all in the living room with all 3 cats, our roommate hissed as loud as she possibly could. For no reason at all. I have to clarify that it was our roommate who made the hissing sounds, and that she is a human. She knew our cats were uneasy.

This sound triggered my partner and I’s girl cat to ATTACK our boy cat, tricking her into thinking that he was was hissing at her. After that, she went and beat the crap out of our roommates cat. She was extremely confused by the hissing sound. While they were fighting, our roommate was laughing. I got super sad, cleaned up the food that was knocked all over the floor. I just kept saying “that was not good and that was not funny”.

Now, my partner and I’s boy cat is back at square one and we have to separate every single cat from eachother. My roommate told me “maybe you should take him to the vet”…

So AITAH for feeling one like a maid and two for my cats who got confused by her hissing extremely loud when they were all doing their best to get along in the first place?

Now my partner and I’s cat are fighting and they haven’t done this for months.
