Frustrated and maybe retaking..?
I received my score back on September 23rd, and I scored 510 (129,126,127,128). This was the same as my first AAMC FL score, and I had gone up from there, averaging a 515. I'm planning on applying this June, but I feel like this score is going to hold me back. I have heard plenty of people tell me to retake, and plenty of people tell me not to retake. I hate this position because it feels like there is no right choice, and I just have to fuck around and find out. I am leaning towards retaking and quitting my full-time job to study all of December and January, and start studying after work on the weekdays. But I simply cannot make up my mind. I have plenty of volunteering, research, and around 500 clinical hours. Is anyone in a similar position? I can definitely apply with this score but I really value my grades and my scores, and this score just hurts my ego and probably my application. BTW! I got alopecia areata this month from stress (autoimmune condition triggered by stress) anyways i guess it's not that deep but a lot of my plans are centered around if i retake or not so if anyone has any advice, not just for the MCAT but for my general situation it would be greatly appreciated!!! (i would prob quit research, volunteering and work but also taking a gap year sooo)
