What's the biggest discount a superstar player has given a team when in their prime?

McDavid just signed for a $12.5 million cap hit for 2 years (which will be in his 30 and 31 year old seasons), knowing that the cap will be $104 million in the first year of the contract and roughly $113.5 million in the 2nd year. Max an NHL player can sign for is 20% of the cap at the start of their contract, so McDavid could technically have gotten as much as $20.8 million per season on a $104 cap, with a max of 8 years.

Kaprizov (who is roughly a top 5-10 player) just signed about a week ago for 8 years at a $17 million cap hit (16.35 cap hit %). McDavid's will be 12.02 %.

The highest cap hit % a player ever signed for was Brad Richards in 2006, when he got 17.73%. That equivalent today would be McDavid signing for $18.44 million.

What are some other big discounts superstars have given? Talking about players who are at the level of best in their sport.
