Had my first day at a new workplace. Nothing bad even happened but I still got overwhelmed and spiraled because of it.
People were generally nice to me, and answered questions I had. Nothing stressful work wise actually happened.
The only "bad" things that happened were one person asking me to do something i wasn't ready to (which I made him aware of) and people being very casual to eachother and me and me not knowing how to react or respond cos i default to polite formal. A few people ignored me but that's to be expected.
But i felt genuinely suicidal and like my skin had been rubbed raw by the end of the day. Just from the pressure of meeting so many new people in a new place with new expectations and so many unknowns.
And I feel ridiculous for getting so destroyed over nothing!! This isn't sustainable for me to breakdown like this every time lots of things change or I'll never be able to live my life.
Does anyone have any advice for dealing with change like this and not getting super overwhelmed by it?
I didn't want to have to disclose my autism to this place unless I really needed to, if this doesn't improve by the end of the week I may have to..
