In San Diego for a couple nights by myself and got lucky!

Saturday night I was wandering around the Gas Lamp, hadn’t been thinking about stand-up much, but saw Jim Norton was playing at the Laugh Factory and remember thinking he was funny back in the day. Check in with the door guy. It’s $41 and a 2 drink minimum. wtf? That seems expensive, feels like this means it’s actually $59; I know SD is expensive, but no thanks. Around the corner is Josh Johnson at the Balboa, how did I miss this? Sure it’s gonna be sold out.

Not quite sold out, and it’s $49? Basically $10 cheaper than Jim Norton. Of course, there was a couple behind me who talked the whole time, despite me angrily shushing them repeatedly. At one point telling me “shut the fuck up”, the only words I had said all night were asking them to be quiet. At the end, the sweet little old lady next to me thanked me. I appreciated that, but mostly I wanted them to see how I wasn’t alone.

Anyways, Josh Johnson was hilarious! I’d say he’s like top 3-5 touring comedians I want to catch right now, but didn’t expect to. What do you think?
