Booked a flat with WiFi, but no WiFi...
Hello Reddit-Scrollers,
I booked a rental flat in Italy on booking.com. Upon arrival I want to log in the Wifi (Internet) which should be available. After contacting the landlord, he told me, the router was broken. So no WiFi for me π Then he told me, I can buy a Sim Card here and use it (no mention, that he takes the costs or so). I contacted booking.com via phone and told them the situation. They want to look into it and opened a ticket. Me still in contact with landlord an he asked me to accept a appointment with a technician to install new router. Appointment was today, technician looked and at connection in the flat and this router is not compatible. Great. So no WiFi.
Contacted booking.com again. They say I need a written statement from landlord to cancel the trip, so they can maybe refund me or even look for an alternative flat (alternative was mentioned at first support call). Official the cancelation fee for this rental is the full price... because why not π€. Without the written statement, they can't do anything. After the 2nd support call, b..com refunded me 48 β¬. On their own costs, they said... Good move from them so far. Now I got another appointment on Friday for a next try for WiFi. B..com said also, they wrote 3 emails and several calls to landlord with no response. BTW the next maybe positive appointment is 13 days into my stay here... π€¨ Because I want to visit Italy for longer time I booked 1 whole month.
Now begins my Question to u folks out here: Someone else had this scenario and can give me some useful tips, how to act from here. I personally would like to get the written cancel for the trip and b..com looks for an alternative for me. What are the right steps to do now gents and lady's? Hope for some good answers. the funny ones included π Good day
