When to stop bottles and milk?

My LO is 14 months. We currently give him a bottle of whole milk before his nap and bedtime. I’ve heard we’re supposed to stop bottles and milk soon but no one has ever actually explained that to me! I’ve also heard conflicting info of when babies should stop bottles and milk.

When should we stop bottles? He currently loves his bottle before bed and doesn’t use pacifiers. Do we just put him into bed with nothing to calm him down before?

When do we stop milk? He enjoys milk but only gets it before bed. Should we keep giving him milk just in other ways? Does it not matter if he has milk? Is he for sure supposed to stop milk before bed?
