going to an outlet store

my wife and I have been building up a collection, mostly because we love the colors. We're planning a short trip to an outlet store near us with some sales going, and I wonder if y'all have any advice on making the most of it.

Are there things to avoid in the stores, stuff that looks discounted, but isn't worth it? Are there hidden gems we should be on the lookout for?
